Here is the full production script for Week 7, Day 5.
To ensure this fills the 30–60 minute window, this script focuses on Practical Application. The "Weigh-In" segment is designed to be slow and methodical, teaching players how to roleplay a transaction properly.
Crucial Note: Ensure Plant A and Plant B are present. Their questions cover "Barter" and "Foreign Coin," which are very common roleplay scenarios.

🎤 PART 1: THE RECAP (Kati)
(Walk to the podium. Look relaxed. Lean on the counter/podium like a merchant.)
[Chat Block 1] /me steps onto the stage, resting her hands on the podium. She smiles, looking over the familiar faces. "Tal, Citizens. We have reached the end of Week 7. The week of Merchant Law."
[Chat Block 2] "It has been a week of coin and calculation. On Day 1, we learned about the License—the paper that separates a Merchant from a Smuggler. On Day 2, we watched Gavin the Peddler lose his cart because he could not count to five."
[Chat Block 3] "On Day 3, the Poet sang of the Standard Stone, the mother of all trust. And yesterday... we saw Gorm the Baker ruined because he drilled the heart out of his weights."
[Chat Block 4] "Today, we put theory into practice. We are going to hold a Mock Market. I want to make sure that the next time you buy a sack of grain, you do not get cheated."
⚖️ PART 2: THE WEIGH-IN (Interactive Demo)
[Chat Block 5] /me steps out from behind the podium. She points to the scale and the sack of flour sitting on the stage. "Here is a sack of flour. The Merchant claims it weighs Ten Pounds. The price is five coppers."
[Chat Block 6] "I need a volunteer to be the Skeptical Buyer. Who trusts no one? Come forward."
(WAIT 30 SECONDS. If a player steps up, use them. If not, signal PLANT A.)
[Chat Block 7 - Instructions to Volunteer] "Tal. You want this flour. But you suspect I am a cheat like Gorm. What is the first thing you do before we even touch the scale?"
(Wait for answer. Guide them if needed.)
[Chat Block 8] "You check the Weights themselves. Pick up that iron weight. Look at the bottom. What are you looking for?"
(Wait. The answer is the Seal.)
[Chat Block 9] "Correct. You are looking for the Seal of Teletus. If the bottom is scratched off, or covered in wax, or smooth... refuse the sale. Call the Guard. The weight must be certified."
[Chat Block 10] "Now, place the weight on one side. Place the flour on the other. Watch the swing."
(Roleplay waiting for the scale to balance.)
[Chat Block 11] "It balances. The needle is true. Now you may pay me. This is the ritual of the Honest Market. Never accept a pre-weighed bag. Always demand the swing of the beam. Thank you, volunteer. You may sit."
💰 PART 3: THE TAX DISCUSSION (Sales Tax)
[Chat Block 12] /me returns to the podium. "Now that the sale is made, let us talk about the Coin. Law 5.4 mandates a Sales Tax of One Percent."
[Chat Block 13] "Many of you grumble about this. You say, 'The Ubar has enough gold!' But think about where this copper goes."
[Chat Block 14] "It paves the road you walked on to get here. It pays for the torch that lights the market at night. It buys the iron for the City Gate."
[Chat Block 15] "If you cheat the Sales Tax, you are stealing the cobblestones from under your own feet. If a Merchant offers you a 'Special Price' if you pay under the table... know that he is weakening the city."
❓ PART 4: THE OPEN FORUM (Q&A)
[Chat Block 16] "I open The Circle to you. Ask me about Trade, Coin, or Barter."
(WAIT 30 SECONDS. If silence, Signal PLANT A.)
[PLANT A QUESTION] (Plant asks): "Mistress! What if I don't use coin? What if I trade my chickens for his boots? Do I still have to pay the 1% Tax?"
[Chat Block 17 - Answer] /me nods slowly. "A classic question. Barter is common. But the Law still applies."
[Chat Block 18] "Technically, you must assess the Value of the transaction. If the boots are worth 100 coppers, you owe the City 1 copper. Since you cannot cut a slice off a coin, the Merchant usually keeps a ledger of barter and pays the tax in lump sum at the end of the month."
[Chat Block 19] "Barter is not a shield against Tax. It is just a different form of value."
(Signal PLANT B)
[PLANT B QUESTION] (Plant asks): "Mistress, I am a traveler from Ar. I have Tarns (Gold coins from Ar). Can I use them here, or is that illegal?"
[Chat Block 20 - Answer] /me smiles. "Gold is gold, whether it is stamped with a Tarn of Ar or the Home Stone of Teletus."
[Chat Block 21] "Foreign Coin is legal tender, provided it is of standard weight and purity. However, Merchants have the right to weigh your coins to ensure they are not clipped (Law 5.2)."
[Chat Block 22] "Also, expect to pay a small Exchange Fee at the money changers if you want local currency. But yes, spend your Ar-coin here. We are happy to take it."
🏁 THE CLOSING
[Chat Block 23] /me smooths her robes. "Merchants, keep your scales true. Buyers, keep your eyes open. An honest market makes a wealthy city."
[Chat Block 24] "Next week, we stay in the market, but we look at the living tools of the trade. Week 8: Merchant Law II & Beasts."
[Chat Block 25] "We will discuss Contracts—how to sign them so they hold up in court. We will discuss using Slaves in your shop (and why they can't touch money)."
[Chat Block 26] "And... we will discuss the Animal Laws. If you own a sleen, a tarsk, or a panther, you must attend next week. We will teach you how to keep your beast from being put down by the Guards."
[Chat Block 27] "The Circle is closed!"
(Signal Crier/Slave to end.)
