📜 DAY 1: THE LECTURE (Script for Kati)
Topic: The Three Death Rules
[OPENING] "Tal. Welcome to Week 12. To the Free, the Law is a shield. To the slave, the Law is a cage of knives." "There are three things a slave must never do. If you do them, you do not get a trial. You get a grave."
[SECTION 1: STEEL] "Law 6.3.3: 'Female slaves may not touch weapons without explicit permission.'" "Do not move your Master's sword to clean the table. Do not pick up a dagger to hand it to him unless he commands it. If you touch steel without leave, the penalty is Death."
[SECTION 2: THE FIST] "Law 6.2.3: 'A slave shall not strike a Free Person.'" "It does not matter if he is drunk. It does not matter if he hurts you. If you raise your hand against the Free, the penalty is prolonged torture, followed by Death."
[SECTION 3: THE LIE] "Law 6.3.7: 'Slaves may not lie.'" "A Free Person may use guile. A slave may not. Your tongue belongs to your Master. If you are caught in a falsehood, the penalty is Death." "Do you see the pattern? Obedience is your only safety."
[CLOSING] "Tomorrow, our players will show you a girl who tried to 'help' her Master with his sword... and paid the price. Dismissed!"
🎭 DAY 2: CREATIVE BRIEF (For Aria/Actors)
Topic: The Helpful Hand
To: Aria / Caste of Players From: Kati Evans Theme: Law 6.3.3 (Touching Weapons)
The Goal: A tragedy. A slave tries to be helpful, but breaks the absolute taboos of Gorean law.
Characters:
THE MASTER: A Warrior, cleaning his gear.
THE SLAVE: Eager to please, perhaps new.
THE MAGISTRATE: Witnessing the act.
Plot Outline:
The Scene: The Master leaves his sword on the bench to get a drink.
The Act: The Slave sees the sword is near the edge. She thinks, "I will move it so it does not fall." She picks it up.
The Witness: The Magistrate walks by. He stops. "Girl! You hold steel!"
The Defense: The Master returns. "She was just moving it!"
The Law: The Magistrate shakes his head. Law 6.3.3. "She touched it without explicit permission in the moment. The Law is absolute."
The End: The Master is forced to slay her (or she is dragged off), proving that "Good Intentions" do not save you from the Code.
🖋️ DAY 3: CREATIVE BRIEF (For Aria/Poets)
Topic: The Hamstrung Dancer
To: Aria / Caste of Players From: Kati Evans Theme: Law 6.3.8 (Escape Attempts)
The Goal: A visceral, painful poem about the consequence of running away.
Key Elements:
The Crime: Attempting escape.
The Punishment: Law 6.3.8: 'A slave who attempts escape shall be hamstrung upon the first offense.' (Cutting the tendon behind the knee).
The Loss: She can no longer dance. She can only crawl or limp. The beauty is ruined.
Sample Imagery: "I ran for the forest, I ran for the green, But the arm of the Law is long and lean. The blade was sharp, the cut was deep, Now I sow what the runners reap. My dancing days are turned to dust, A crippled thing of pain and lust."
📖 DAY 4: STORY BRIEF (For Guest Speaker)
Topic: The Price of a Secret
To: Guest Speaker / Storyteller Theme: Law 6.3.7 (Lying)
The Goal: A story about a slave who lied to protect her Master, thinking she was being loyal.
Story Arc:
The Crime: The Master was cheating on his taxes (or having an affair).
The Question: The Guards asked the slave, "Where was your Master last night?"
The Lie: She said, "He was asleep," knowing he was out.
The Discovery: The Guards found proof he was out.
The Consequence: The Master was fined. But the Slave? She lied.
The Law: Law 6.3.7. The Guards executed her on the spot.
Moral: Loyalty does not excuse the Lie. A slave's truth belongs to the City first.
🗣️ DAY 5: THE FORUM (Script for Kati)
Topic: "The Path to Freedom" (Manumission)
[OPENING] "Tal. We end Week 12 on a note of hope." "We have spoken of Death and Punishment. But there is a way out of the collar. It is called Manumission."
[SECTION 1: THE GIFT] "Law 6.7.1: 'Owners may free their slaves at any time.'" "It is a gift. You cannot buy it. You cannot demand it. It must be given."
[SECTION 2: THE PAPERWORK] "If your Master frees you, he must go to the Scribes. Law 6.7.2. The Manumission papers must be certified and sealed." "Listen to me: Law 6.7.3. You must carry these papers at all times. If you are found without them, you will be thrown in jail for a hand. If no one brings the papers? You are enslaved again."
[SECTION 3: THE TRANSITION] "Law 6.7.4: 'A newly freed slave must dress properly within one day.'" "You cannot walk around in your silks. You must put on the robes of a Free Woman immediately. Cover yourself. Act the part. Or the trap will snap shut again."
[Q&A SESSION - PLANT QUESTIONS] "I open The Circle. Ask me about Conduct and Freedom."
Plant Question 1: "Mistress, if my Master tells me to hit a Free Man, do I do it?"
Answer: "A trap! Law 4.3.6: 'Any Free Person who commands a slave to commit an unlawful act shall be punished.' BUT Law 6.2.3 says YOU die if you strike. The answer? Obey your Master, but pray the Magistrate blames him. It is a terrible spot to be in."
Plant Question 2: "Mistress, what is 'Kajira Canjellne'?"
Answer: "Law 6.8.3. It is a duel for a slave. A challenge of steel to recover a stolen girl. But be warned: Only Warriors can be challenged. You cannot challenge a Scribe to a sword fight for a girl."
[CLOSING] "Next week is our final week! Week 13: The Grand Review. We will cover Slavers, Special Scenarios, and celebrate the end of our first cycle. The Circle is closed!"
📜 SCRIPT 1: WEEK 12, DAY 1 (THE LECTURE)
Host: Kati Evans Topic: The Three Death Rules (Conduct)
(Instructions: Stand at the podium. Wait for Crier to finish.)
[LINE 1] Tal. Welcome to Week 12. To the Free, the Law is a shield. To the slave, the Law is a cage of knives. There are three things a slave must never do. If you do them, you do not get a trial. You get a grave.
[LINE 2] First, the Steel. Law 6.3.3 states: "Female slaves may not touch weapons without explicit permission." Do not move your Master's sword to clean the table. Do not pick up a dagger to hand it to him unless he commands it in that moment. If you touch steel without leave, the penalty is Death.
[LINE 3] Second, the Fist. Law 6.2.3 states: "A slave shall not strike a Free Person." It does not matter if he is drunk. It does not matter if he hurts you. If you raise your hand against the Free, the penalty is prolonged torture, followed by Death.
[LINE 4] Third, the Lie. Law 6.3.7 states: "Slaves may not lie." A Free Person may use guile. A slave may not. Your tongue belongs to your Master. If you are caught in a falsehood, the penalty is Death.
[LINE 5] Do you see the pattern? Obedience is your only safety. If you touch the weapon, if you strike the blow, or if you speak the lie... the Law offers no mercy.
[LINE 6 - CLOSING] Tomorrow, our players will show you a girl who tried to "help" her Master with his sword... and paid the price. Come watch "The Helpful Hand." Dismissed!
🗣️ SCRIPT 2: WEEK 12, DAY 5 (THE FORUM)
Host: Kati Evans Topic: "The Path to Freedom" (Manumission)
(Instructions: This is interactive. Be prepared to pause.)
[LINE 1] Tal. We end Week 12 on a note of hope. We have spoken of Death and Punishment. But there is a way out of the collar. It is called Manumission.
[LINE 2] Law 6.7.1 says: "Owners may free their slaves at any time." It is a gift. You cannot buy it. You cannot demand it. It must be given freely by the Master.
[LINE 3] If your Master frees you, he must go to the Scribes. Law 6.7.2 requires the Manumission papers to be certified and sealed. Listen to me closely: Law 6.7.3 says you must carry these papers at all times.
[LINE 4] If you are found without them, you will be thrown in jail. If no one brings the papers to prove you are Free? You are enslaved again. The paper is your life.
[LINE 5] Also, Law 6.7.4: "A newly freed slave must dress properly within one day." You cannot walk around in your silks. You must put on the robes of a Free Woman immediately. Cover yourself. Act the part. Or the trap will snap shut again.
[LINE 6 - Q&A OPENER] I open The Circle. Ask me about Conduct, Punishments, and Freedom.
(Wait for questions. If silence, use a PLANT QUESTION below).
(If needed - Plant Question 1): "Mistress, if my Master tells me to hit a Free Man, do I do it?"
Your Answer: "It is a trap! Law 4.3.6 says a Free Person who commands a slave to commit a crime is guilty. BUT Law 6.2.3 says YOU die if you strike. The answer? Obey your Master, but pray the Magistrate blames him. It is a terrible spot to be in."
(If needed - Plant Question 2): "Mistress, what is 'Kajira Canjellne'?"
Your Answer: "Law 6.8.3. It is a duel for a slave. A challenge of steel to recover a stolen girl. But be warned: Only Warriors can be challenged. You cannot challenge a Scribe to a sword fight for a girl, and you cannot use it to fight for yourself."
[LINE 7 - CLOSING] Next week is our final week! Week 13: The Grand Review. We will cover Slavers, Special Scenarios, and celebrate the end of our first cycle.
[LINE 8] The Circle is closed!
◈════════════════════════════════════◈
Week 12 Production Package. This is the "Life or Death" week for slave players. The tone shifts from bureaucratic (last week) to visceral and dangerous.
🛠️ Immediate Setup (Administrative)
[ ] Create Notecards: Create 6 separate Notecards inside Second Life (Logistics/Crier + Days 1–5).
[ ] Distribute to Staff: Pass the relevant Notecards to your staff and talent pool.
[ ] Update the Crier: Ensure the street slave deletes Week 11 macros and installs the Week 12 versions (Topic: The Death Rules / Survival).
[ ] Targeted Outreach: Send a notice to all Slave Training Houses or Kennel Groups. This is the most critical educational week for new slaves (The 3 Death Rules), so frame it as mandatory safety training.
🎭 Creative Assignments (Delegation)
[ ] Send Brief to Aria (Day 2): Deliver "The Helpful Hand" brief.
Action Item: Casting Note: The Master in this play needs to show regret. The tragedy is that he likes the girl, but the Law forces his hand. It shouldn't be a "cruel master" trope; it's a "cruel law" trope.
[ ] Send Brief to Aria/Poets (Day 3): Deliver "The Hamstrung Dancer" brief.
Action Item: Physicality: Ask the poet if they can use an animation override (AO) that makes them crawl or sit on the floor during the reading to visually represent the ruined legs.
[ ] Recruit Guest Speaker (Day 4): Select the Storyteller for "The Price of a Secret."
Action Item: The moral here is counter-intuitive (Loyalty = Death). Ensure the speaker hits the point hard: The City's Law supersedes the Master's secrets.
🗓️ Daily Execution Checklist
Day 1: The Lecture (Kati)
[ ] Review Script: Memorize the "Three Death Rules" perfectly (Steel, Fist, Lie).
[ ] Tone Check: Use the metaphor "A cage of knives." You are trying to scare them into staying alive.
Day 2: The Play (Aria/Actors)
[ ] Prop Check: You need a Sword placed on a Bench or Table.
Action Item: The prop must be "selectable" or clearly visible so the audience sees the temptation for the slave to "fix" it.
[ ] Safety Check: This play ends in an execution. Ensure the "Slave" player is OOC comfortable with a simulated death scene (or being dragged off to one).
Day 3: The Poem (Aria/Poets)
[ ] Anatomy Check: Ensure the audience understands what "Hamstringing" implies. It is the severing of the tendons behind the knee, rendering the victim unable to walk or dance forever.
Day 4: The Story (Guest Speaker)
[ ] Crowd Control: Slaves in the audience might get upset at the idea of "betraying" a Master to the guards. Be ready to explain that the Master put the slave in that position by breaking the law first.
Day 5: The Forum (Kati)
[ ] Prop Requirement: Manumission Papers. Have a scroll or official-looking document to wave during the lecture.
[ ] Prep Plant Questions: Ensure your confederate is ready with:
"Master orders me to hit someone?" (The Trap: Obey, but pray).
"Kajira Canjellne?" (The Duel for a Slave—only for Warriors).
