W13D1 - Lecture (Slavers/Poison)

by Kati Evans

Here is the full production script for Week 13, Day 1.

To ensure this fills the 30–60 minute window, this script serves as a bridge between Merchant Law and Criminal Law. It deals with the high-stakes business of Slavers and the terrifying concept of Biological Weapons (Poison Slaves).

I have added a specific interactive segment called "Merchant or Smuggler?" to test the audience on the difference between a legitimate Slaver and a criminal.

Crucial Note: Have a Ledger (book) and a small Vial/Bottle (prop) on the podium to serve as visual aids.

📜 SECOND LIFE SCRIPT: WEEK 13, DAY 1

Event: The Lecture (The Business of Flesh & Hidden Death) Host: Kati Evans Target Duration: 35–45 Minutes (plus gathering time)

🟢 PRE-EVENT CHECKLIST

  • [ ] Rez the Stage. (Props: A Ledger, a green/black bottle representing poison).

  • [ ] Staff: Ensure Plant A and Plant B have their Question Notecards.

  • [ ] 1:00 PM: Announce 5-minute gathering period.

🎤 PART 1: THE WELCOME (The Final Cycle)

(Walk to the podium. Place the Ledger and the Vial on the wood. Look solemn.)

[Chat Block 1] /me steps up to the podium. She rests her hands on the heavy leather ledger. She looks out at the crowd, acknowledging the regulars who have been here for weeks. "Tal, Citizens. Welcome to Week 13 of The Circle."

[Chat Block 2] "We have arrived at the end. The Final Cycle. We have spoken of Laws for the Free, Laws for the Slave, Laws of the Market, and Laws of the Sword."

[Chat Block 3] "Today, we speak of the men who stand in the middle of all these worlds. The men who turn people into coin: The Slavers."

[Chat Block 4] "And we will speak of the darkest perversion of our law: The Slave who is not a tool of pleasure, but a tool of death. The Poison Slave."

💰 PART 2: THE SLAVER'S LEDGER (Law 5.6 & 5.7)

[Chat Block 5] /me opens the ledger. "Slavery is the engine of Gor. But it is not a chaotic trade. It is not kidnapping in the dark. It is a Business."

[Chat Block 6] "Law 5.6 permits Private Slavers and Kennels. It is an honorable profession... provided it is honest."

[Chat Block 7] "But listen, Slavers: Law 5.7 says you must provide records of sales and properties to the Merchant Magistrate. You cannot sell girls in the dark. Every collar must be tracked."

[Chat Block 8] "If you hide your sales to avoid the tax, or if you sell girls off the books... you are not a Merchant. You are a Smuggler. And the City treats Smugglers like thieves. We seize your stock. We burn your ledger. We break your chains."

☠️ PART 3: THE POISON SLAVE (Law 6.8.2)

[Chat Block 9] /me picks up the small vial from the podium. She holds it up to the light. "Now, a warning to the wealthy. Some of you think it is clever to keep a 'Poison Slave'—a girl whose lips are coated in death, or whose nails scratch venom."

[Chat Block 10] "You think she is a bodyguard. You think she is a secret weapon."

[Chat Block 11] "Law 6.8.2 is absolute: 'Poison slaves are illegal weapons.' They are not pets. They are assassins."

[Chat Block 12] "Law 6.8.2.a: 'Authorities shall immediately destroy any uncaged poison slave.' We do not cure them. We kill them. They are biological hazards."

[Chat Block 13] "Law 6.8.2.b: 'Any Owner who possesses a poison slave without approval... commits Treason.'"

[Chat Block 14] "Treason. Not a fine. Treason. If we find one in your house, we do not just kill the slave; we kill the Master. Do not bring poison into this city."

⚖️ PART 4: MERCHANT OR SMUGGLER? (Interactive Game)

[Chat Block 15] /me leans forward. "I want to test your knowledge of the Trade. I will describe a transaction. You tell me: MERCHANT (Legal) or SMUGGLER (Illegal)?"

[Scenario 1] "Scenario 1: A Slaver sells a girl to a visitor in the middle of the night behind the tavern. He accepts a bag of uncounted coins. He gives no receipt. Merchant or Smuggler?" (WAIT for audience to answer. Answer: SMUGGLER.)

[Chat Block 16 - The Verdict] "Verdict: SMUGGLER. No receipt? No Scribe? No Record? That is black market trade. If the girl runs away, the buyer has no proof of ownership. And the Slaver has paid no tax."

[Scenario 2] "Scenario 2: A Slaver brings a girl to the Hall of Records. He pays the tax. He registers the transfer. But the girl is weeping. Merchant or Smuggler?" (WAIT. Answer: MERCHANT.)

[Chat Block 17 - The Verdict] "Verdict: MERCHANT. The girl's tears do not matter. The paperwork matters. He followed Law 5.7. It is a legal sale."

[Scenario 3] "Scenario 3: A Master claims his slave has 'special lipstick' that makes men sleep forever. He keeps her in a cage in his bedroom. He has no permit from the High Magistrate. Merchant or Smuggler?" (WAIT. Answer: TRAITOR/TREASON.)

[Chat Block 18 - The Verdict] "Verdict: TRAITOR. This is Law 6.8.2. He possesses an illegal weapon. He is not a smuggler; he is a dead man walking. Report him immediately."

❓ PART 5: Q&A SEGMENT (Extending Time)

[Chat Block 19] /me takes a sip of water. "I will take questions now regarding the Slave Trade, Poison, or the legality of weapons."

(Signal PLANT A)

[PLANT A QUESTION] (Plant asks): "Mistress! Can I get a permit for a Poison Slave? The law says 'without approval.' Who gives approval?"

[Chat Block 20 - Answer] /me narrows her eyes. "Technically? The High Magistrate or the Ubar."

[Chat Block 21] "But practically? Never. Unless you are the Ubar's personal assassin, you will not get that permit. Do not ask for it. Asking for it makes the Magistrates wonder why you need to kill people so quietly."

(Signal PLANT B)

[PLANT B QUESTION] (Plant asks): "Mistress, what if I buy a slave and find out later she was stolen? Do I lose my money?"

[Chat Block 22 - Answer] /me nods grimly. "Yes. If you buy stolen goods, they are returned to the original owner."

[Chat Block 23] "Law 6.8.3.a allows a Warrior to challenge for a stolen slave (Kajira Canjellne). But legally, if the papers prove she belongs to another... you lose the girl. You must then sue the Slaver who sold her to you for Fraud. Check the provenance before you buy."

🏁 THE CLOSING

[Chat Block 24] /me closes the ledger with a heavy thud. "We are approaching the end. Tomorrow, we move to the stage for the final time."

[Chat Block 25] "Our players will perform a drama titled 'The Invisible Ledger.' It is the story of a Slaver named Varo who thought he was too smart to pay taxes. He learned that the Scribes see everything."

[Chat Block 26] "And remember... Friday is Graduation. If you have been with us, you will receive the Seal. Do not miss it."

[Chat Block 27] "Dismissed!"

(Signal Crier/Slave to end.)
